DENVER, CO—Opera Colorado invites local singers to participate in upcoming chorus auditions for its 2026-27 Season. Productions in the season include Verdi’s Macbeth and Mozart’s School for Lovers (Così fan tutte). Performances for both productions will be presented at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the Denver Performing Arts Complex in downtown Denver.
Opera Colorado’s chorus is now a fully professional, paid ensemble, reflecting the company’s ongoing investment in artistic excellence and its artists. The company is currently negotiating its first Collective Bargaining Agreement with the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), marking a significant milestone in its commitment to fair and sustainable working conditions for performers.
Chorus auditions will take place on Thursday, June 4 from 6:00–9:00 p.m., and Saturday, June 6 from 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. at the Opera Colorado Opera Center, located at 4121 S. Navajo Street, Ste 100, in Englewood. The audition panel will include Sahar Nouri, Assistant Conductor & Chorus Master; Barbara Lynne Jamison, Artistic Director & CEO; and Dennis Robinson, Jr., Director of Programs & Partnerships.
Opera Colorado will audition all voice types. Singers should prepare two selections from art song or opera repertoire; one selection must be in a foreign language, preferably Italian. Repertoire should be memorized. A pianist will be provided. To request an audition, use this form.
